SDUFE successfully Holds the International Conference on Green and Low-Carbon Development and Industrial Upgrading

        On September 15, the “International Conference on Green and Low-Carbon Development and Industrial Upgrading” organized by Shandong University of Finance and Economics was successfully held.The conference invited well-known experts and scholars at home and abroad to give keynote speeches and conduct academic exchanges around themes such as coping with global climate change, low-carbon development and industrial upgrading.



        On the morning of September 15, President Zhao Zhongxiu and Executive Dean of the European Economic Research Institute, Thomas Cole, delivered opening remarks successively.Zhao Zhongxiu expressed his gratitude to the guests who participated in the conference, and welcomed the delegates, then introduced the development and achievements of Shandong University of Finance and Economics as well as the significance of this conference.Zhao Zhongxiu pointed out that this international conference is the first academic event since the 70th anniversary of the founding of Shandong University of Finance and Economics, and it embodies the wisdom of experts and scholars at home and abroad. He hoped that this conference can be held continuously in the future topromotethe exchanges among the academic community, industry and the government, so as to continuously provide high-level talents for Shandong Province and China to achieve green and low-carbon development.


        After guests’ remarks, Achim Wambach, Dean of the European Economic Research Institute, Xue Jinjun, Professor of Nagoya University, Japan, Andreas Zeitner, Professor of Upper Austrian University of Applied Sciences and Technology, Zhang Zhongxiang, Founding Dean of Ma Yinchu School of Economics, Tianjin University, Professor Rooster, Martin Luther Haller Wittenberg University, Germany, Wu Caixia, Associate Professor, School of International Economics and Trade, Shandong University of Finance and Economics, and Professor Bu Yuxi, Martin Luther Haller Wittenberg University, Germany delivered remarks respectively.The guests at the conference discussed issues related to global climate change, low-carbon development, and industrial upgrading, and conducted in-depth discussion on global climate change, low-carbon development and industrial upgrading, research on European climate policy, green global value chain and carbon neutrality, the impact of global value chain upgrading on vocational education, and research on the synergy of China’s low-carbon economic development.

        On the afternoon of the 15th, the theme salon of “Green and Low-Carbon Development and Industrial Upgrading” was held.Qi Ye, Dean of Public Policy Research Institute, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Professor Lu Andy from Ruhr University,Professor Ralph Wilsborn from Martin Luther Haller Wittenberg University, Germany, Carsten Anger, former President of BMW China, Wang Ying, Associate Professor, School of Finance, Shandong University of Finance and Economics and teachers and students presenting the conference shared ideas onhot topicssuch as industrial transformation and upgrading, virtual power plants and green engines, transformation of the automobile industry, and green credit policies promoting green innovation research.

        The conference was co-organized by the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, Graduate School, China International Low Carbon College, and Qilu Enterprise Development Research Institute.More than 90 representatives from more than 40 universities and enterprises including Central University of Finance and Economics, Beijing Normal University, and University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences attended the meeting.
