On the morning of September 12, the opening ceremony of 2021 graduate students of Shandong University of Finance and Economics was grandly held in Yanshan campus. President Zhao Zhongxiu attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. Vice President Chen Xiaolan presided over the ceremony.The ceremony was held online and offline. More than 1,600 new graduate students witnessed this important moment through a live webcast.
Zhao Zhongxiu expressed his heartfelt congratulations and warm welcome to the arrival of the new graduate students, gave a brief introduction on SDUFE’s history, and put forward hopes and requirements for the 2021 graduate students.He hoped that graduate students will cherish and make good use of this short and precious time by seizing the opportunities given by the times, pursuing excellence and striving for first-class quality to build themselves into self-confident and self-reliant first-class talents at a higher level, and to become the leader and shape of the new era.He put forward his requirements that postgraduates should study with self-improvement, have family and the world in mind; to learn with a moral manner to cultivate a noble personality; to learn with practice to inherit the spirit of craftsmanship; to learn with the focus on innovation to always pursue excellence.He reminded graduate students to adhere to the need and problem orientation when doing research, start from the urgent and long-term needs of the country, form a healthy lifestyle and scientific learning methods, maintain physical and mental harmony, and reach a balance between work and rest. All of the graduate students need to show the responsibility as the intellectuals in a new era with a sincere Chinese heart and make full use of the knowledge gained for our nation.
Chen Xiaolan wished all new graduate students of the 2021 grade to release their youthful passion in the struggle and strive to write a wonderful chapter of the new era in accordance with the expectation of President Zhao Zhongxiu.
Professor Li Na, representative of tutors, national-level young talents, and doctoral tutor of the School of Statistics, delivered a speech;Jia Qi, a graduate student representative from the School of Accounting, and Mi Ming Jincheng, a graduate student representative and a doctoral student from the School of International Business and Economics, and Dong Fangjun, alumni representative, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Shenzhen Oriental Huiquan Financial Holding Group and Dean of Rural Revitalization College of Shandong University of Finance and Economics, delivered speeches successively.
After the ceremony, the enrollment education for new graduate students was carried out. The responsible personnel of various relevant functional departments introduced postgraduate training, dissertations and academic requirements, student status management, campus safety, mental health, social practice, and innovative experimental classes.Taishan Scholar Distinguished Professor, Shandong University Distinguished Professor Yang Huixin, and Professor Ge Yongbo, also Dean of the School of Insurance of our school, gave a special report respectively.
