Recently, the Ministry of Education released the list of the Second Batch of Pilot Areas and Universities for Artificial Intelligence boosting the construction of the teaching team. Pilot work was carried out in 55 universities, 20 prefectures, and 25 districts and counties.SDUFE, as the only university with financial characteristics among approved universities, was successfully selected for this pilot project.

        In September 2020, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council issued the “Overall Plan for Deepening Educational Evaluation Reform in the New Era”, making overall arrangements and deployments for eliminating the “stubborn diseases” in educational evaluationwhile putting emphasis on knowledge, intellectual education, one-sidedness, quantity, externality, utilitarianism and short-term effects but lighten ability, moral education, comprehensiveness, quality, internality, value and long-term effects.The “Overall Plan” puts forward thegeneralrequirements to “Make full use of information technology to improve the scientific, professional, and objectivity of education evaluation.” It also incorporates “innovative evaluation tools” into the work list of relevant universities in all regions implementing the “Overall Plan”, thus continuing to do a good job of overall coordination, publicity and guidance, and supervision of implementation.

        Technological developments such as artificial intelligence and big data have brought new possibilities for the reform of education evaluation methods, and will play an important role in advancing the reform of education evaluation in the new era while at the same time promoting the high-quality development of education.SDUFE takes the lead in applying for the pilot work,with the centerfocusing onthe core goal of socialist education, to earnestly implement the “Overall Plan for Deepening Educational Evaluation Reform in the New Era”. With the emphasis on diagnostic evaluation and precision training of teachers’ professional competence, teacher big data construction and evaluation reform, SDUFE will innovate evaluation tools, highlight financial characteristics by fully using teaching process big data and artificial intelligence models to construct and improve the training system that can comprehensively improve teacher professionalism.Moreover,a big data analysis system conducive toteachers’ professional developmentshould beestablishedfor the realization of teacher evaluation reform and the modernization of governance capabilities to achieve a significant improvement in teachers’ professional ability, education level and innovation ability.
