On the morning of September 10th, Shandong University of Finance and Economics celebrated the 36th Teacher's Day and commendation conference in the First lecture Hall of Yanshan Campus. This conference was held to pay tribute to the faculty and staff who have been engaged in higher education for 30 years, and to commend those who’ve shown exemplary performance in teaching and research work. The conference was presided by the university’s president Zhao Zhongxiu. Wang Shaojun, Secretary of the Party Committee of Shandong University of Finance and Economics, attended the conference and made a speech. Zhao Youchun, Qi Haodong, Han Zuosheng, Chen Xiaolan, Zhang Shuxue and Zhang Xin also attended the conference.
In his speech, Wang Shaojun first extended holiday greetings to all the faculty and staff. He then paid tribute to the old teachers, leaders and comrades who had made important contributions to the reform and development of the university, and expressed warm congratulations to the 230 people who had been honored at the conference. Finally, he expressed sincere appreciation to the faculty and staff whose been working in higher education for three decades and also extended warm welcome to new colleagues who just joined the university.
Zhao Zhongxiu, President of Shandong University of Finance and Economics, said in presiding over the meeting that today's commendation conference is to give full play to the example set by the honorees and empower them, stimulate the enthusiasm and initiative of faculty and staff members for entrepreneurship, and better invest in the future development of education.
The leaders of Shandong University of Finance and Economics present certificates of honor or trophies to the awardees. The said awards are as follows: National Talented Person, National "Young and Middle-aged Experts with Outstanding Contributions", the Ministry of Education of Institutions of Higher Learning Scientific Research prize winners (Humanities and Social Sciences), Young and Middle-aged Expert with outstanding contribution in Shandong Province, Shandong Province financial talents, teaching model of Shandong Province, Shandong Province’s 7th "Super Star Cup", young teachers in colleges and universities teaching contest winners, the fifth Counselors in Shandong Province Quality and Ability contest winners, the 30th Anniversary of the Work in the Higher Education for the on-the-job faculty, Outstanding teachers, outstanding educators, scientific research pacesetter, teaching master, advanced individual of teacher ethics, "the most beautiful teacher" and model of teaching, teaching awards and other awards. Recipients were filled with joy and pride as they went on the stage to accept their awards.
In particular, Wang Jingmin, a professor at the School of Business Administration, won first prize in the Cloud Ideological and Political Education competition and the honorary title of "Famous Teacher of Teaching in Shandong University of Finance and Economics". Ma Entao, professor at the School of Finance and Taxation, was awarded the "Scientific Research Pacesetter of Shandong University of Finance and Economics" and Zhang Xiaoye, is a Ph.D. candidate at the International Economic and Trade Institute for 2020. Said honorees all delivered a speech at the conference.
