On December 3, David Richardson, Vice-Chancellor of the University of East Anglia(UEA), and Li Dan, Director of Strategic Cooperation of the International Department, visited our school and signed a memorandum of cooperation alongside. President Zhao Zhongxiu and Vice President Han Zuosheng met with the guests, and relevant persons in charge of the International Office attended the talks.

President Zhao Zhongxiu welcomed Richardson and his delegation on behalf of SDUFE and introduced the basic situation of our school and the achievements of reform and development in recent years. He pointed out that, in the context of the implementation of significant new and old kinetic energy conversion projects in Shandong Province and the establishment of the Shandong Free Trade Pilot Area, to give full play to the school's talents and discipline advantages, we established the Shandong Free Trade Pilot Area Research Institute; for further promotion the new liberal arts Construction, we have opened the first domestic development undergraduate experimental class and graduate experimental class; at the same time, we are preparing for the establishment of an international low-carbon college or research institute, which will train a large number of students who are responsible for international development cooperation and promote green, low-carbon, and high-quality development. He hoped that the two universities would establish a friendly and stable relationship, jointly explore new forms of cooperation that advance with the times, and further promote substantive collaboration. Vice President Han Zuosheng introduced to our guests the quality of students, discipline construction, faculty, and international development. He hoped that the two sides could provide high-quality global education platforms for teachers and students of the two universities by creating high-level cooperation projects in the subject areas that they fit.

Richardson introduced the situation of the University of East Anglia and expressed high expectations for cooperation with our university. He hoped that it could be used for students at different levels, expand the all-round cooperation space with the projects with unique advantages of both sides as the starting point, expressed the intention to cooperate with our university in the field of international development cooperation and low-carbon new energy speciality, and sincerely invited us to visit and exchange at the University of East Anglia.

The two sides also conducted in-depth exchanges in the areas of upgrading from Bachelor's degree to Master's degree, joint Bachelor and Master's degree training, student visits and exchanges, summer internship exchanges, and teacher training. After the meeting, the two universities signed a memorandum of cooperation.
