On December 11, Shigeyuki Okajima, President of Aomori University of Japan and Distinguished Professor and President of Japan-China Talent Association Chen Huabei, visited our school. President Zhao Zhongxiu and vice president Han Zuosheng met with the guests. People attended the meeting also included heads of the International Office and the School of Foreign Languages.
President Zhao Zhongxiu, on behalf of the school, welcomed the two guests and made an introduction to our school and its achievements in the reform and development in recent years. He pointed out that in the context of the establishment of the Shandong Pilot Free Trade Zone and the deepening of the China-Japan-ROK Free Trade Agreement, SDUFE is integrating the resources of the three countries, preparing for the establishment of the China-Japan-ROK Research Institute and building a think tank for China-Japan-ROK regional cooperation. He stressed that in the next step, focus on relevant fields will be highlighted, such as promoting collaboration with universities in Japan and South Korea, absorbing high-quality educational resources from foreign institutions, and continually improving the level of teaching, scientific research, and social and economic services. Vice President Han Zuosheng introduced the international development of our university to the guests, pointing out that our university has established mature international cooperation projects at the undergraduate, graduate, and teacher levels. He hoped that the two sides could combine scientific research and talent training to expand the cooperation space further.
Mr.Okajima briefed the essential information and disciplinary advantages of Aomori University and expressed his wish to enhance the exchanges between Chinese and Japanese students through the bilateral cooperation, which will surely promote the cultural exchanges between two countries. From his perspective, the rise of Asia is changing the world economic landscape, and Asia's role in the world commercial stage is becoming increasingly important. Hence he expects that the exchange between the two universities in an all-round way will be leveled up, and the jointly trained international professionals will be capable of adapting to the trend of economic and social development. He also sincerely invites our university to visit and exchange with Japan.
During the talks, the two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on student exchange, undergraduate double degree, short-term internship, and teacher exchange and reached the preliminary intention of cooperation. The two schools signed a memorandum of collaboration after the meeting.
Founded in 1962, Aomori University is the oldest school in Aomori city, Japan, and the only comprehensive university equipped with Faculty of Business, Faculty of Sociology, Faculty of Software System and Information Science, and Faculty of Pharmacy.
