David Aptsiauri, the former Georgian ambassador to China, visited SDUFE from June 23rdto 25th. President Zhao Zhongxiu and Vice President Han Zuosheng met with Aptsiauri respectively.
Zhao Zhongxiu extended a warm welcome to Aptsiauri, introduced the basic situation of SDUFE and exchanged views with the guest on the current situation of Shandong Province and China's trade and problems encountered, as well as the“Belt and Road” initiative. Han Zuosheng briefed Aptsiauri on the SDUFE history, discipline and international development, compared the education system between China and Georgia, and expressed the expectation that the two countries will establish diverse cooperation in education and personnel training. Aptsiauri thanked SDUFE for the warm reception, introduced Georgian higher education system, analyzed "Belt and Road" initiative in the current development of the world, hope the well-known universities from Georgia can cooperate with SDUFE on the talent training in international management so as to help the "Belt and Road" initiative continue to improve and grow.
On the morning of June 24th, Mr. Apuchauli made a keynote speech entitled“BRI as a New Model of Global Economic Cooperation” for more than 300 teachers and students of SDUFE in the “Taishan Lundao” master forum.
Deans from President’s Office, International Office, and School of International Economics and Trade attended the meeting.
David Aptsiaurigraduated from Moscow Institute of International Relations and received his master's and doctorate degrees in international economic relations in 1980 and 1989. He has worked asSecretary of Foreign Affairs International Relations Bureau, Deputy Minister of Department of State, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, and the ambassador to Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Mongolia, Vietnam and China.
