About this Course 
International Investments is an introductory post-graduate course that teaches the fundamentals of international investment. All the post-graduate students of SDUFE who majored in international business, and other related disciplines are required to take this course. This course begins with an introduction to basic outlines of international investment theories. Then it applies the basic theoretical framework to the real investment by the transnational companies (TNCs) worldwide. The final section of the course provides a deep understanding of the worldwide picture of the international investment.
By the end of the course, you will be able to understand the investment theories, solve basic investment problems, and use these techniques to think about a number of investment decision making processes relevant to the operation of the real world.

Course Goals 
After completing this course, students should have developed a range of skills enabling them to understand international investment theories and use those theories to analyze specific investment questions.
By the end of this course, students should be able to:
·         Familiar with the concepts of international investments.
·         Master the theories of international investment.
·         Understand other important factors in the process of international investment. 
·         Develop the skills of applying the investment theories to analyze the real investment issues.
·         Use tools to analyze real investment benefits and losses.

Topical material and additional reading for class discussion may be assigned during the semester. 
Deliverables and Grading 
Method of evaluation and grading: 
1There will be several mandatory writings assignments which will be individually graded. At the end of the term students will have the best eight homework grades cumulated up and this will count for 30% of the final course grade.
2There will be one midterm exam which count as 20% of the grade.
3There will also be a 90-minute final, which will be cumulative and cover all of the course materials. This will count as the remaining 50% of the grade.
